psyduck tsukiji market
The story behind Psyduck Market and how it launched a whole series of Pokemon illustrations that you all know and love
It all started in the year 2018. Bryce was in-between jobs and used his free time to draw a few of the illustrations that you’ve probably come across on Pinterest, seen on your For You page, or maybe they’re already hanging on your walls!
This was also right before he joined Sabatoge Studios to work on the pre-production concept art for Sea of Stars (Available on ALL platforms).
It was actually Bryce’s life partner, Lai, who came up with the fun idea of drawing a “bunch of Psyducks.” From that ingenious prompt came this whole piece that we are all frequently enamored by: our best-seller Psyduck Tsukiji Market!
All throughout the piece Bryce hid all sorts of inside jokes to make Lai laugh. I won’t go over those, you wouldn’t get it anyways ✋
However, he did hide some special easter eggs for the viewer as well. Of course that includes the one Shiny Pokemon that is placed in the Shiny version of the print, which you have to win by spinning a cheeky wheel at conventions. Besides the Pokemon that is marketed as the main Shiny of the print, there is also a more hidden, secret Shiny that can be found in both the Regular version and the Shiny version of the print. This one is trickier to find since there is no shiny symbol to give it away.
So take your time, zoom in, zoom out, and explore what can or can’t be the Secret Shiny.
I won’t give any hints & neither will the print!
