Get to know LaiMakes!

LaiMakes is an illustrator based in Pasadena, California who specializes in capturing charming moments through her favorite characters. She is the brains behind all the Punkomon stickers, which are sold on the site, and the colorist behind all the Animal Crossing prints.

Bryce and Lai are also life-long partners!
Fun fact: The Animal Crossing Museum print is based on their wedding day, which was held at the National History Museum in Los Angeles 🥰

Lai is also no stranger to the convention scene. You will usually find her in the Artist Alley of cons such as Anime Expo, San Diego Comic Con, and Anime Boston, just to name a few.

When looking through her breadth of work you will usually find cute doodles that snapshot moments of her newfound parenthood, food illustrations, silly meme drawings, and awe-inspiring Harry Potter illustrations in the famously quaint Studio Ghibli style!

This collaboration all came about when Animal Crossing came out and Lai & Bryce shared an island during the Covid lockdown. You can even find their Animal Crossing avatars in 2 out of the 3 pieces. Lai had also just finished her teaching career in 2021, which is when they both worked on the Museum piece. Lai worked on Brewsters during the height of her Punkomon series gaining a lot of traction on Instagram. Last, but not least, Celeste was made and dedicated towards her son, Conan, during the last month of her pregnancy with him.
